I just read a great article by David Alston that he did for Valentines day entitled '10 Ways to show your Community love'.
He has the usual points, such as you should; Listen, Celebrate their Success, Say Thank You etc...but the one point that really stuck out to me was Dont Forget the Little Things. The reason I say this is because too often great campaigns get planned, with all the focus on preparation and then once it is excecuted brand teams start focusing on the next round. But we don't take time to do the little things, the small gestures of substance that mean the world. Following up with customers to find out how their experience was, sending a birthday message or even just adding a little personal extra to communication that goes out. Everyone gets the big things right, but it is in the small things where the difference is both felt and appreciated!
